The Foolishness of the Gospel

"But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are," 1 Corinthians 1:27-29

We Christians are surely a strange and peculiar people, aren't we? We are called, "a royal priesthood, a workmanship created in Christ Jesus, His Elect, Saints... And at the same time God says that He "chose what is foolish, weak and despised (THAT'S US!) in the world, to shame the wise". And then to top it off, we walk around with these HUGE logs in our eyes, were we can't see where we are going and continually smack other Christians across the head with these logs, in trying to keep a straight path on the road home.

Yes indeed, We are surely a strange and peculiar people, who actually think that we are all that, and some. ;-) You want to talk about the Love, mercy of God, to even give a miserable person like myself, the time of day? It is astonishing and overwhelming in trying to comprehend something like that. I'm constantly reminded daily, of His grace, love, mercy..., every time I look in the mirror and that fool, peculiar person, stares back at me and thinks for some reason that he's special or has anything under his control and has it all figured out. By the grace of God go I...

(Acts 17:28) ‘In him we live and move and have our being’ "and His mercy endures forever" Psalm 136!
